A Different Type of Wine Club
DIRECT from a Different Winery Each Month

Until now, you had two options when choosing a wine club:

1. Subscribe to a wine club offered by a winery. These are great if you really like their wines and want a lot of it, but they don't let you explore new wineries.
    
2. Subscribe to a wine club offered by a wine merchant to get a selection of different wines. The merchant typically negotiates for a steeply discounted price from the winery, then marks up the price to make a profit from the club. There is usually no incentive for the winery to offer their best wines, versus unloading a slow-moving wine at a discount.

Now there is another approach, offering a selection of different wines direct from the winery, where the winery's incentive is to offer you their best wines.

Introducing Club WineWeb, an exclusive club offering wines direct from small-production wineries, at prices less than you can get them anywhere else. Each month you'll receive two bottles of wine, selected by the winery to showcase their style. A different winery is featured each month. We'll choose the winery from our ever-growing list of wineries who use WineWeb for their e-commerce services. That way, you can easily order more of their wines online.

These wineries are small and typically have too small of a selection of wines to support their own wine club, and it's very unlikely you would see these wines in your local wine shop. Unlike some other wine clubs, the winery's incentive is not to get rid of slow-moving product, but rather to showcase their best wines, in the hope that you like them and you order more. As an added incentive, the wineries will provide a discount code in the club shipment, good for a limited time on future orders

The Initial Line-up

Here's what we've offered in the first several club shipments. Chances are that you haven't heard of any of these, but once you try their wines, we'll bet you'll tell your friends. In fact, we're betting the success of this club on you telling your friends.

• October: The wines of Kendric Vineyards inaugurate the club. A small family winery in Marin County, their Pinot Noir and Syrah are perfect for the cool nights of autumn.
• November: No need to shop for your Thanksgiving wines, as a sparkling Viognier and a Zinfandel from Barclay & Browning in Lake County will be the talk of your gathering.
• December: A Chardonnay and a Zinfandel from Barry Manilow Wines would make a perfect gift or liven up the holiday festivities.
• January: Graeser Winery on Diamond Mountain exudes old Napa Valley charm
• February: The winemaking skill for blending grapes is apparent at Magito Wines.

Club Benefits & Flexibility

Each month you'll receive two bottles of handcrafted wine, direct from a different small-production winery. The wines in the club shipment are priced at a discount, something these wineries rarely do. In addition, you'll receive a page of details on these wines, which will include a promotion code that you can use for a limited-time discount on additional wines from this winery.

We'll inform you of each upcoming shipment, and give you time to review the selections. You can choose to skip any shipment if the price or style doesn't match your interests. As the size of the club grows, we'll introduce themed tiers (based on region, style and price), and allow you to switch between tiers as often as you like. If we have limited quantities of a wine, the first members in the club will have priority on these wines.

We'll attempt to keep the monthly cost in the $30-$55 range, plus shipping of $14-18.

As the wineries are handling the shipping of your wines, the destinations that the club is able to ship can vary each month. Some wineries may not have sufficient volume to justify the direct ship permit fees into your state. Depending on your location, you may not be able to receive a club shipment each month. If the selected winery is unable to ship to your location, we'll notify you ahead of the shipment, in case you are able to make alternate shipping arrangements.

An Exclusive Wine Club

We provide online tools for you to easily invite others into the club, and to make changes to your account. As an incentive for club members to invite their friends into this club, we'll highlight the members with the most referral members (including referrals of referrals), and send our top club members cool stuff.

Why did we do an invitation-only club, you may ask? Although it may seem counter-intuitive, we believe that once you taste these wines, you will want to invite your friends to join. After the initial launch of this club, we intend to limit our marketing activities and rely on our members' word-of-mouth to drive the membership. Our success will be dependent on offering wines that you want to tell your friends about.
