10th Annual Winemaker's Dinner Date: Sunday, October 11, 2009 Time: 5:30 pm Location: Lurcat 1624 Harmon Place Minneapolis, MN 55403 This year's 10th anniversary Winemaker's Dinner, benefiting Children's Home Society and Family Services, will take place at an exciting new location, Lurcat. Bob and Sue Greenberg will be honored for their contributions to the event over the past ten years. The evening will include a four-course dinner paired with exceptional wines from Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, and a fabulous auction and raffle. Tickets are $250 per person. Minnesota Event - Raise on the Rooftop

Raise on the Rooftop is a great wine/cigar event benefiting Children's Home Society and Family Services. It is an after work affair to set the stage for the 10th anniversary Winemaker's Dinner - CHSFS' largest fundraising event. The evening will include master cigar rollers, a wonderful Spanish wine tasting, a fashion show by Elsworth Menswear with luminaries of the Twin Cities business industry dressed in the latest fashions, and a raffled auction.

Tickets are $75 per person, which includes complimentary wine tasting and cigar. They can be purchased by calling Jennifer Thurston at CHSFS (651) 255-2319, or online at Children's Home Society and Family Service's website.

Another great event worth looking into if you're in the south! I'm a veteran of the Texas Hill Country Wine & Food Festival, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a great food and wine pairing. It's the best wine festival in this region year after year! The wine selection and the amazing food they offer makes it worth any road trip. Anyone else going on Gary Vaynerchuk's Thunder Cruise in April? My husband surprised me with tickets for our anniversary and I'm SO excited! We're leaving April 18 out of Ft. Lauderdale, and the ship goes to the Dominican Republic, St. Maarten, St. John's Antigua, and Nassau. Lots of tastings and events on board. Definitely a wine lover's dream! Sagrantino Wine Festival

Fairly short notice I appreciate (unless you also happen to be in the region) but the Sagrantino Wine Festival is taking place in Montefalco (Umbria, Italy) from the 18th to 21st September. There are guided tastings of the new 2005 vintage of Sagrantino di Montefalco (including in English on Friday (5pm), Saturday (5pm) and Sunday (midday)) and lots of other events.
