I am representing several top quality wine makers in Moravia, region of CZ. Let me explain how it works in Prague restaurants with wines...I am on the phone so we can talk. I am sure that wines I am representing are better ;o)

I think wine from the Czech Republic still needs improvement to be drinkable internationally. I spent about 10 days in Prague, it's a beautiful city, much more pretty then Paris in fact....but the quality of food/drink outside of Pilsner (which I love) is poor in comparison. We aren't talking very poor, but after those 10 days my wife and I were happy to be back in California for the variety of food available!

Hello, no problem, I really misunderstood you, soory for that )
I am representing several winemakers from the Czech republic and right now I am in the middle of setting up the dealers netwok abroad. My company is organizing shipments all over the EU, but I am seeking for somebody who would represent our wines for example in the USA. I fly to Raleigh, NC in September, I have few meetings there. There are 99,9% no dealers in the USA today, I would be happy if I could find some. Our winemakers really deserve that and I am sure that there is a place for our wines in the US market. My project is also co-finance by Czech government to support our winemakers and wines. If you know about somebody who would be interested in cooperation, please let me know ;o)
There are really no Czech producers available in the US, which is a bad thing, but I am working on it to make it on your market.
If you need some samples, let me know ;o)
Andrej

You misunderstand me, Andrej.

I was referring to America as the home of the branve and the land of the thirsty. This was meant to ask you (as I thought I did) to name "some Czech producers available" in the USA. I was and still am quite sure that there are a lot of Czech wines available in the Czech Republic. I don't get out to your shoppes much.

Hello, I am glad for your replies. I have launched one project here which is about promotion of Moravian wines (especially white ones). Moravia is a eastern region of the Czech republic.
Pilsner Urquell is winning all possible competitions all over the world so besides Budvar it is one of the best beers in the world. The technology of production is unique.
So, about our wines... I am not here to promote them via my URL in the signature, it is just a part of my identification in this forum. I am here to find out more information from all different kinds of people what do they think of our wines. This is the only reason I am here. TO discuss and find out )
Soil and climate...this is very comparable to regions in France, where wine is world famous. I am not here to tell that our wines are the best, but I am trying to show that our wines are worth trying. This is why this project has started.
The prices is very good and the quality is way over the price. Also harvest is unique...some of wine makers make it manually. Besides, many of our partners have invested a lot of moneyinto technology and during past few years our white wines have won many medals in Austria, Israel, Hungary, USA and even UK. I will have profiles of these people on our website shortly so you can take a look later.
Also some fields are nearby tha National Park. Someliers from the UK who come here and taste are very impressed and surprised with high quality.
Well, I do really hope that one day you will also have a bottle of Morvaian wine on your table ;o)

Ps: we are not home of the thirsty ;o)

Mostly, I was busting chops. I figured he's here to promote like the rest of the recent posts.

Pilsner Urqell is just okay for my Czech palate anyway!

Before addressing the issue of Czech republic wines, I need some clarification of Elron's comment as to what is thought of their wines: "If it tastes like their Pilsner Urqell, not too much"

What is wrong with Pilsner Urqell?

As to wines, I have had wine from Slovenia, which used to be part of Czechoslovakia but is now a seperate nation from the Republic.

I mean nothing bad when I say that the best thing about them is that they are inexpensive. You may have noted, in my comments about my winery visit or on your own elsewhere in the market, that the simple fact that a wine is merely pedestrian does not mean it will be inexpensive.

I don't know that Czech wines have more than very limited distribution in the U.S. I am unaware of any brands/makers.

Well, Andrej, since you are attempting to promote Czech wines with your URL, why don't you tell us some Czech producers available in the land of the free and the home of the thirsty?

If it tastes like their Pilsner Urqell, not too much. Even though, the Czechs quality of wine is suppose to be getting better. Hungary too!

Tried this 8 buck Cab, from Thracian Valley in Bulgaria and was pleased. A tasty solid Cab. It was fruit forward. If you run across it you should try it. Don't often buy Bulgarian wine but this one was good.
