Again, I would buy more of this higher priced wine because of its complexity, the flavors are blended well.

"Wine value is a relative concept. If you pay $30 for a wine and when you tatste it you find that it is worth more than what you paid then it is considered a value."

This ties in more with what I said is the problem with my view of value and raises the question - why would someone find a bottle of wine to be worth more than the $30 paid? What do you expect in a $30 bottle of wine? Don't you expect a $30 bottle of wine to be great, to be excellent? I know I do.

Nopw this "Even a $100 bottle of wine is a value if you enjoy the wine." This of course is more in line with the non-problem idea of value - that anything, if it is serviceable is a value, no matter what the price.

The idea that an enjoyable $5 bottle of wine is a value just like an enjoyable $100 bottle of wine is a value seems to be a contradiction of values.

Wine value is a relative concept. If you pay $30 for a wine and when you tatste it you find that it is worth more than what you paid then it is considered a value. Again price and value are relative terms relating to what you are used to paying and drinking. Even a $100 bottle of wine is a value if you enjoy the wine.

"I normally do not buy $30 bottles of wine"

This is just my point - you spent more than you normally would and got more than you normally would. Isn't that to be expected?

I guess my problem is that I tend to think of a "value" as something more akin to a "deal", which it actually isn't. If you get $30 worth of wine for $30, you have received fair value. Again, I seem to think of "value" and "fair" as two different things. I just can't get a good hold on the idea that half-bottles of Yquem at $120 represent what can be described as a value.

The value in this wine was the superb taste of the wine. The character of this wine had a good balance with a crisp finish. Now realize that I normally do not buy $30 bottles of wine but would most certainly buy this wine again.

You note the biggest problem with many French rosé wines - the price.

What made this wine a "value" at $30?

Light orange hue, with a crisp, fresh taste. A truly fine Rose from France. $30 a bottle and a value at that. A must try for summer.

Julia thank you for the information. I tend to favor reds (merlot) in the winter and have not been a fan of whites, I think this Rose sounds like a wine for me. I'm going to attempt to locate a bottle. Summer wine doesn't have to be white.

A wonderful, fresh and savory Rose from the Calatayud Region of Spain. The color is lovely to look at on a spring evening. Highly recommend it for around $8/bottle. Picked up 2 bottles and am going back today fro more. Savor the flavor.
