What are you drinking this weekend?

Well I bought one this year - Valenzano Vineyards Jersey Devil port wine.

Valenzano is a South Jersey grower and vintner. The wine certainly tastes of French-American hybrid fruit, but it is naturally spicy and sweet and does the job as a simple dessert offering.

Not to mention the very scary (use Count Floyd voice for "very scary" rendering of the historic Jersey Devil on the label.

But the best thing for Halloween this years for me is that I realize in time that - - I have some Graves down in my the cellar.

(Latour-Martillac, and no, I will not call it a Pessac-Leognan at this time of year).

Any haunting wines for anyone else? Any ideas just to throw out and amuse our friends?

Welmoed Stellenbosch cabernet sauvignon 1998

It's no wonder you can't find this wine - the wonder is why you would want to find it.

Welmoed is currently selling their 2007 Cab't Sauvignon. They, the winery, recommend that these wines be drunk within 3 years.

I imagine you can do the math.

looking for prosecco

If you just were looking for prosecco that would be easy.

Looking for specific wines, it is easier if you spell the names correctly. F'rinstance, one does much better searching for Antinori Cipresseto than when searching for Antinori Cipressto.

While several Bortolomiol Prosecoo wines are available in the US, those from the Colli Trevigiani D.O.C or estate do not seem to be.

Where did you get these wines before?

As long as this post came up again:

"Looks like maybe a Penqiun stamped on the cork also"

hey. I bet that penguin is actually a rooster. the black rooster is the symbol of Chianti Classico.

Missed this before.

Cevin Bottle

My Dad has a bottle that resembles the bottle your looking for: Chianti, elephant-shaped, approx 3ft. tall, made in Italy, unopened. If you are still looking contact him at jwhaumschild@comcast.net He is not actively trying to sell the item but he has mentioned being willing to part with it. It couldn't hurt making an offer. He's a pretty easy going guy, don't be scared. Dan
