WineWeb Search Instructions There are seven ways to search for information in The WineWeb database. Each method will eventually get to the same underlying data, however, each has advantages in certain situations. Search Methods Home Page Searches: From the home page, there are two options, one to find wines to buy, the other to search our winery database. Winery Search: Use this search function to find a winery by region or winery size. This is the quickest way to get a list of wineries for a specific area. Wine Search: Looking for a specific type of wine and want to find wineries that produce it? This is the search method for you! While only a small percentage of wineries have entered this information to date, you will likely discover some new producers. Winery Search Using Maps: Looking for wineries in a specific region, but don't want to type? Click on a series of maps to find the wineries in a region. Wine Gift Search: Looking for a wine gift, but not what to buy? Let us recommend something that matches your budget and the recipient's general tastes. Wine Club Search: Use this search function to find a wine club offerings from wineries and wine merchants. Brand Search: Use this search function to find a winery that produces a specific brand or wine label. Closest Wineries : Use this search function to find the wineries closest to a specific location. You enter a ZIPcode and a list of surrounding wineries is displayed. Useful if you're going on a trip and want to visit some wineries close by. Release Schedules : Use this search function to find future vintage release schedules for a specific winery or a region. Instructions for each search method follow. It's fast and simple. There are two options, one to find wines to buy, the other to search our winery database. Find and Buy Wine - enter/select any or all of the following: part of a winery or wine name, a region, a price range, and a type of wine. Then select your shipping destination and click the 'Go' button. You will then be shown a list of wines that are available for sale direct from the winery or from wine merchants. Search The WineWeb Winery Directory - enter part of a winery name and optionally select a wine region. You will be immediately shown that winery's page, or if several winery names match, you will be shown a list of wineries from which to choose. Note that the selection lists are but a subset of the wine regions and wine types that are available in our other search options. Our most popular search. Search for wineries using the world map as your guide. Click on a continent to display a map of that continent. Click on a county to display a map of that country or a list of wineries. Continue to click on the more detailed maps until a list of wineries is displayed. This search method is useful in exploring the wine regions of an area. Use this method to find wineries in a specific region. Note: Enter only the information that you wish to search on. Leaving a field blank ignores that criteria. Also, you only need to enter part of the winery's name, as it will match on all information containing the entered text. Annual Production : This is usually used to find smaller wineries in a region. Not all wineries have specified this data -- if they haven't, the production volume will appear as zero. Be sure to enter '0' as the 'From' value to include those wineries. Do not enter commas -- 10,000 is entered as 10000. Looking for a specific type of wine to buy?. This is your search! You can even specify the vintage year and a maximum bottle price. Note that only a small percent of wineries have entered wine level information to date. Even a smaller percentage have entered vintage level information. However, if you keep your search criteria more general, you will likely discover some new wines for your enjoyment. Note: Enter only the information that you wish to search on. Leaving a field blank ignores that criteria. Also, you only need to enter the first few characters of the Winery Name, as it will match on all information containing the entered text. Vintage Year: If you are interested in a specific vintage, enter the from and to years. Use the 4 digit year. Shipping Destination: Checking the box and specifying a shipping location will only list those wines that can be shipped to your location. Show: Check the button that corresponds to what you want displayed. You can choose to show wines available direct from the winery and also wines available from wine merchants/retailers (the default). You could also choose to only show those wines available direct from the winery or only those wines available from a specific wine merchant. Show Merchants: Check the button that corresponds to what you want displayed. You can choose to show wines available only from wineries and wine merchants that reside in the shipping destination, or you can choose to show wines that can be shipped to the destination (the default). Looking to buy wine as a gift?. This is your search! You can specify more general criteria and we'll recommend wines that match. Select a shipping destination for the gift, then select any or all of the other search criteria. Show: Check the button that corresponds to what you want displayed. You can choose to show wines available only from wineries and wine merchants that reside in the shipping destination, in nearby states (to reduce the shipping costs), or you can choose to show wines that can be shipped to the destination (the default). Some wineries and wine merchants offer wine clubs where you regularly receive a few bottles of wine. This search function allows you to find and compare various find wine club offerings. Wines From : Select the country and state (if U.S.) where the wines originate. Wine Type : Select whether you want only red wine, only white wine, or if it doesn't matter. Delivery Frequency : Select the desired frequency of shipments. Clubs that ship to: Select your shipping destination. Due to regulations, the winery or wine merchant can only ship to specific destinations. If you specify a destination, any shipping and sales tax will be calculated in the search results listing. Some wineries bottle wines under several brands or wine labels. This search function allows you to find the winery when you only know the brand name. Brand Name : Enter a portion of the brand name. Planning a trip and wanting to visit some wineries close to your destination? This search function allows you to enter a ZIPcode (currently US wineries only) and see a list of wineries that are close by. You can then view information on the winery, contact the winery to arrange an appointment, and display a map to the winery. Wanting to know when the next vintage of a specific wine is due to be released or the release schedule for wines in an area? This search function allows you to look at future release schedules that the wineries have posted Note: Enter only the information that you wish to search on.
