The Schechtel Family invites you to visit Erin Glenn, Wasco County’s oldest winery, located at The Mint in downtown The Dalles, Oregon. Steeped in Oregon history, The Mint offers a cellar ideal for barrel aging wines, a tasting room perfect for enjoying a glass of wine with friends and the ideal location for any special event.

The tasting room is located in what would have been the main parlour of The Mint and offers a unique and welcoming environment in which to enjoy complimentary tastings of our locally grown and carefully crafted wines, from Viognier and Gewürztraminer to Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and our infamous Tantrum Red.

The dream of Erin Glenn Winery was conceived in a garage in Hood River, Oregon in 1997, when Tim and Erin Schechtel began experimenting with grape juice leftover from a crush plant nearby.  There was no way of knowing that that very first vintage of Gewürztraminer would be the beginning of a life-changing adventure for Tim, Erin & their family of four daughters.  Tim and Erin moved their ever expanding family east to The Dalles ~ where rural simplicity and a community ready for change expressed everything they hoped for.

The winery now produces such little-known varietals as Tempranillo, Dolcetto, Barbera and Viognier, as well as the more familiar wines like Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon & Syrah.  Click here for a full list of current wines! 

The people of The Dalles have welcomed the Schechtel family with open arms and hearts and have been integral in creating “The Mint”  an urban winery/"joint" and local hangout.  Local musicians can be found jamming at The Mint every 3rd Friday ~ larger concerts and special events are promoted there as often as winemaking allows.
