Ackerman Family Vineyards

 We are a small boutique winery located in the cooler Coombsville region of southern Napa County and have 11 acres planted of our roughly 16 hillside acres in Cabernet Sauvignon.  We have been making wine for ourselves since 1995, getting to know the nuances of our terroir, before releasing our first commercial release in October 2007 with 300 cases of our 2003 Ackerman Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon. We farm organically, using legumes as a cover crop, no chemicals and hawk boxes for rodent control, among other things.  Our wine is 100% cab and is barrel aged for two years in new French Oak and then bottle aged for an additional two years before we release it.  Our 2004 vintage will be released at the end of October 2008 and has a total production of 400 cases.  We produce wine that has lower alcohols, blends well with food and has the ability to age 7 to 10 years and beyond with subtle flavors of berry, spice, smoke and cherry.  We sell direct to consumer and through restaurants and high-end direct retailers only.  We do not have a tasting room but with advanced notice, can offer visitors a short tour of our vineyard.  The retail price for the 2004 Ackerman Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is $78.  All net proceeds from our winery go back to the community in various non-profit grantmaking.  Please visit us at our website for more details.
