Set just two miles from San Francisco’s San Pablo Bay, Acacia® Vineyard benefits from the cooling influence of the Pacific Ocean and the area’s shallow, dense soils. The cool climate allows the grapes longer hangtime on the vine to develop more complex flavors. Founded in 1979, Acacia was one of the first to produce Pinot Noir in the Carneros district. Today, Acacia is a leader of the new Carneros, making compelling Pinot Noir that is more concentrated, bolder in color and richer tasting than the typical Carneros Pinot Noir. Contrary to conventional Pinot Noir winemaking, Acacia uses gentle growing matched with hard-handling winemaking to produce distinctive wines.
