Mata d´Abelló makes all their wines from their own vineyards. We select the oldest vineyards that produce a low amount of grape but of the best quality. We know that only having a good care of our grapes we can produce a good wine. We choose only farming products indicated by the Integrated Production (which is similar to organic production) that respects more the environment.

A few days before the harvest we perform several analyses of the grapes to find the yards with the best quality.

Our harvest usually begins early in September with the Macabeo variety and it ends in October with the Parellada variety. Each variety is collected at the optimum ripening point. We harvest by hand and our main goal is to keep the grapes fresh and intact.

There are around 16 acres (40 ha) of vineyards of grape varieties such as Tempranillo, Merlot in reds, Macabeo, Xarelo and Parellada in whites. We are introducing others such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Muscat.

But we use only Xarel·lo for the whites and Merlot for the red wine.

OUR WINES:

Toietes is a young white wine elaborated with Xarel·lo. A smooth and fresh wine with only 12º. Releases a fruitful aroma and a touch of final acidity proper to the young wines.

Tottó is a Xarel·lo fermented in barrel. It has a strong body and ancestor, a darker yellow colour and a complex aroma of ripe quinces, orange flower, plum, peach and also toasts from the European oak barrel.

Balló is a Merlot aged in oak barrels for approximately 8 months. It is a soothing wine of a strong structure endowed with aromas from blackberry to toast of the barrel.
